Friday: FIELD TRIP TO ZOO
Parents: Test over Space/Astronomy will be May 17. It is comprehensive and worth 72 points, which is a considerable amount. Please make sure your child is studying each night and filling out their study guide, which will be turned in on May 17.
Monday: Students will be categorizing the planets as either inner or outer planets. They will complete part of their study guide, they will read a handout entitled “Wanderers Planets” and fill in the blanks with that, as well as do a journal entry where they must draw the planets grouped together and give some characteristics that place those planets in each group, inner or outer. All due Wednesday.
Wednesday: Students will read a handout on space technology and students will have to do a journal entry where they list several technological advances made possible by space exploration. They will have to attach advantages and disadvantages to the technological advances. Due Friday.
Friday: Watch a video about space and take notes on technological advances they see in the video.
TEST over Astronomy on May 17.
Monday: Read about and discuss asteroids, comets, and meteors. Students complete a comparison chart on these three types of celestial bodies. Fill in study guide. Due Wednesday.
Wednesday: Read about our solar system and complete a worksheet on our solar system and a journal entry. Journal: Students need to answer “What does the placement of a planet in our solar system have to do with its length of year?”. Fill in part of study guide. Due Friday.
Friday: No assignments other than study for test.
Students will begin completing a study guide on Space. Please make sure they are reviewing this each night. The test over space will be rather large and worth several points.
Monday: Guest Speaker from NASA
Wednesday: Pretest over moon. Look at moon phases and complete worksheet about moon phases. Glue into journal.
Friday: Review moon phases and complete worksheet on moon phases.
